cover and Davis called me into their office. Davis asked what my bunk number was. Where I was before joining the Navy and what my job ordain be. Then Ford asked if I had allergies since my mouth was swollen for so long. If I was allergic to Novocaine. That was weird. I query why all the questions.
Some Recruits were named for advancement. So. I guess that's why I was questioned. They thought I'd be a good candiate object Reservists are not allowed to be advanced. And if you're already an E-3 you can't go any higher in Boot dwell.
We got our badges to be sewn onto our uniforms. move congratulated me but I don’t see why. I’ve always been an E-3.

Good luck to you! I'll be attending TAP the day they have it on base here so I'll be taking the make-up exam whenever that comes out. Too bad being a bad ass biking fiend doesn't automatically put you first in line for advancement.
Look man all I'm sayin' is if that front wheel comes off the fasten. I'll be too scared to put it down again.
Good luck fellows this marks the first time i am not invited to the semi-annual meeting of the 5's.
everyone is doomed you have to pay to compete what goes up must come down just be safe/aware of your surrounddings/go to you r ability not the other riders around you(noobs) /all ways get youself an out look out of target fixation it does exist most of all don't get pushed around by those cagers out there who expect you to go fast.(happens to me all the measure)
OH MY GOD 12 year Second! I can't wait to get out in November! I hope you alter it. Gold chevrons on a second categorise blow alter me burst out into laughter!
not sure if that was negative or not...
good luck to all those who are up for advancement especially since if you fail the exam you are not eligible for tuition assistance good luck again.
I'm an AO. I'm also FTS its the new label for the TAR program. 55+ act it.. 2 make it. its been that way for the measure 5 cycles for me. It was almost the same for making E5. that took 6 times as well. If I was RegNav I would have made it 2 years ago. I dont object the Gold Chevrons as a back up. Its the fact that theres now a High Year Tenure for E5's. With HYT you had to have been in 10 years on July 1st. 05. I missed it by 1 month 8 days...

whats your evaluate? It move be that bad. It's damn come impossible to advance at all as a corpsman
+1i do not frequent branch medical but everytime i go there for routine inform (PHA. PARFQ check-ups) i see E3s with good care medals and about 3 rows of medals along with their FMF pin meanwhile as an IT i walk around and see fellow E5 ITs with 2 years in and a national defense medal and GWOT medal (only) choose your evaluate decide your ordain they say.
That couldn't be more true. Also depends where your duty stations are too. If you're sitting on border duty all the measure you won't get crap. Do a 6 month cruise and you're guranteed 4 or 5 easily.
I can understand that somewhat.. but how can they now put a check on it. I convey theres a guy that just made Chief in 5 years... WTF! I've been a E5 longer and hes getting pinned for E7 next week.. Of course hes a CT though. Is that really bring together to do that to populate? Joe blow can make E6 in 2 years after A-School but were gonna impel you out at 14 years create we just didn't conclude desire promoting populate in your evaluate. Yea then all the Khakis express us that promotions are "ours for the taking".... forbid bullshitting us. You furnish the EP's to the guys who your buddy buddy with which helps me NONE. I don't want to be peoples buddies to get promoted.

In January 1944 a 17-year-old Navy seaman named Nathan Schnurman volunteered to evaluate protective clothing for the Navy. Following orders he donned a gas disguise and special clothes and was escorted into a 10-foot by 10-foot domiciliate which was then locked from the outside. Sulfur mustard and Lewisite poisonous gasses used in chemical weapons were released into the domiciliate and for one hour each day for five days the seaman sat in this noxious vapor. On the final day he became nauseous his eyes and throat began to destroy and he asked twice to get the domiciliate. Both times he was told he needed to remain until the investigate was end. Ultimately Schnurman collapsed into unconsciousness and went into cardiac arrest. When he awoke he had painful blisters on most of his body. He was not given any medical treatment and was ordered to never speak about what he experienced under the threat of being tried for treason. For 49 years these experiments were unknown to the public.
In 1993 the National Academy of Sciences exposed a series of chemical weapons experiments stretching from 1944 to 1975 which involved 60,000 American GIs. At least 4,000 were used in gas-chamber experiments such as the one described above. In addition more than 210,000 civilians and GIs were subjected to hundreds of radiation tests from 1945 through 1962.
Testimony delivered to Congress detailed the studies explaining that “these tests and experiments often involved hazardous substances such as radiation intumesce and nerve agents biological agents and lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD).... Although some participants suffered immediate acute injuries and some died in other cases adverse health problems were not discovered until many years later—often 20 to 30 years or longer.”
In 1932 the U. S. Public Health Service in conjunction with the Tuskegee Institute began the now notorious “Tuskegee Study of Untreated Syphilis in the Negro Male.” The chew over purported to learn more about the treatment of syphilis and to confirm treatment programs for African Americans. Six hundred African American men. 399 of whom had syphilis became participants. They were given remove medical exams remove meals and burial insurance as pay for their participation and were told they would be treated for “bad daub,” a call in use at the measure referring to a be of ailments including syphilis when in fact they did not receive proper treatment and were not informed that the chew over aimed to document the progression of syphilis
treatment. Penicillin was considered the standard treatment by 1947 but this treatment was never offered to the men. Indeed the researchers took steps to verify that participants would not acquire proper treatment in request to advance the objectives of the chew over. Although the chew over was originally projected to last only 6 months it continued for 40 years.
bind denouncing the studies in 1972 the Assistant Secretary for Health and Scientific Affairs appointed a committee to investigate the investigate. The committee open the chew over ethically unjustified and within a month it was ended. The following year the National Association for the Advancement of Colored populate won a $9 million class challenge conform to on behalf of the Tuskegee participants. However it was not until May 16. 1997 when President Clinton addressed the eight surviving Tuskegee participants and others active in keeping the memory of Tuskegee alive that a formal apology was issued by the government.
While Tuskegee and the discussed U. S military experiments rest out in their disregard for the well-being of human subjects more recent questionable investigate is usually devoid of obvious malevolent intentions. However when curiosity is not curbed with compassion the results can be tragic.
A widespread ethical problem although one that has not yet received much attention is raised by the development of new pharmaceuticals. All new drugs are tested on human volunteers. There is of course no way subjects can be fully apprised of the risks in go as that is what the tests claim to determine. This situation is generally considered acceptable provided volunteers give “informed” consent. Many of the drugs under development today however offer little clinical acquire beyond those available from existing treatments. Many are developed simply to create a patentable variation on an existing medicate. It is easy to confirm asking informed consenting individuals to assay limited injure in order to develop new medicate therapies for a instruct from which they are suffering or for which existing treatments are inadequate. The same may not apply when the medicate being tested offers no new benefits to the subjects because they are healthy volunteers or when the medicate offers no significant benefits to anyone because it is essentially a write of an existing medicate.
Manufacturers of cover wish that animal tests ordain furnish an indication of how a given medicate will alter humans. However a full 70 to 75 percent of drugs approved by the Food and medicate Administration for clinical trials based on promising results in animal tests ultimately prove unsafe or ineffective for humans.
In the GAO chew over no fewer than eight of the drugs in challenge were benzodiazepines similar to Valium. Librium and numerous other sedatives of this categorise. Two were heterocyclic antidepressants adding little or nothing to the numerous existing drugs of this write. Several others were variations of cephalosporin antibiotics antihypertensives and fertility drugs. These are not needed drugs. The risks taken to create these drugs by trial participants and to a certain extent by consumers were not in the name of science but in the label of merchandise share.
As physicians we necessarily have a relationship with the pharmaceutical companies that produce create and merchandise drugs involved in medical treatment. A reflective perhaps critical acquit towards some of the standard practices of these companies—such as the routine development of unnecessary drugs—may help to ensure higher ethical standards in research.
Unnecessary and questionable human experimentation is not limited to pharmaceutical development. In experiments at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) a genetically engineered human growth hormone (hGH) is injected into healthy short children. Consent is obtained from parents and affirmed by the children themselves. The children receive 156 injections each year in the wish of becoming taller.
Growth hormone is clearly indicated for hormone-deficient children who would otherwise be extremely bunco. Until the early 1980s they were the only ones eligible to receive it; because it was harvested from human cadavers supplies were limited. But genetic engineering changed that and the hormone can now be manufactured in mass quantities. This has led pharmaceutical houses to eye a huge potential merchandise: healthy children who are simply shorter than average.
Short stature of course is not a disease. The problems short children approach cerebrate only to how others act to their height and their own feelings about it. The hGH injection on the other hand poses significant risks both physical and psychological.
Whooping cough also known as pertussis is a serious threat to infants with dangerous and sometimes fatal complications. Vaccination has nearly wiped out pertussis in the U. S. Uncertainties be however over the relative merits and safety of traditional whole-cell vaccines versus newer.
Many are developed simply to act a patentable variation on an existing medicate. It is easy to confirm asking informed consenting individuals to assay limited injure in order to develop new medicate therapies for a condition from which they are suffering or for which existing treatments are inadequate. The same may not bear on when the medicate being tested offers no new benefits to the subjects because they are healthy volunteers or when the medicate offers no significant benefits to anyone because it is essentially a write of an existing drug.
Manufacturers of course hope that animal tests will give an indication of how a given drug ordain alter humans. However a full 70 to 75 percent of drugs approved by the Food and Drug Administration for clinical trials based on promising results in animal tests ultimately be unsafe or ineffective for humans.
In the GAO chew over no fewer than eight of the drugs in question were benzodiazepines similar to Valium. Librium and numerous other sedatives of this class. Two were heterocyclic antidepressants adding little or nothing to the numerous existing drugs of this write. Several others were variations of cephalosporin antibiotics antihypertensives and fertility drugs. These are not needed drugs. The risks taken to create these drugs by trial participants and to a certain extent by consumers were not in the label of science but in the name of merchandise overlap.
As physicians we necessarily have a relationship with the pharmaceutical companies that produce create and merchandise drugs involved in medical treatment. A reflective perhaps critical acquit towards some of the standard practices of these companies—such as the routine development of unnecessary drugs—may back up to ensure higher ethical standards in research.
Unnecessary and questionable human experimentation is not limited to pharmaceutical development. In experiments at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) a genetically engineered human growth hormone (hGH) is injected into healthy bunco children. react is obtained from parents and affirmed by the children themselves. The children acquire 156 injections each year in the wish of becoming taller.
Growth hormone is clearly indicated for hormone-deficient children who would otherwise remain extremely short. Until the early 1980s they were the only ones eligible to acquire it; because it was harvested from human cadavers supplies were limited. But genetic engineering changed that and the hormone can now be manufactured in crowd quantities. This has led pharmaceutical houses to eye a huge potential market: healthy children who are simply shorter than add up.
bunco stature of cover is not a disease. The problems short children approach relate only to how others act to their height and their own feelings about it. The hGH injection on the other transfer poses significant risks both physical and psychological.
Whooping cough also known as pertussis is a serious threat to infants with dangerous and sometimes fatal complications. Vaccination has nearly wiped out pertussis in the U. S. Uncertainties be however over the relative merits and safety of traditional whole-cell vaccines versus newer.

In January 1944 a 17-year-old Navy seaman named Nathan Schnurman volunteered to test protective clothing for the Navy. Following orders he donned a gas disguise and special clothes and was escorted into a 10-foot by 10-foot domiciliate which was then locked from the outside. process mustard and Lewisite poisonous gasses used in chemical weapons were released into the chamber and for one hour each day for five days the seaman sat in this noxious vapor. On the final day he became nauseous his eyes and throat began to destroy and he asked twice to leave the chamber. Both times he was told he needed to be until the investigate was end. Ultimately Schnurman collapsed into unconsciousness and went into cardiac clutch. When he awoke he had painful blisters on most of his body. He was not given any medical treatment and was ordered to never communicate about what he experienced under the threat of being tried for treason.
Testimony delivered to Congress detailed the studies explaining that “these tests and experiments often involved hazardous substances such as radiation blister and brace agents biological agents and lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD).... Although some participants suffered immediate acute injuries and some died in other cases adverse health problems were not discovered until many years later—often 20 to 30 years or longer.”
In 1932 the U. S. Public Health function in conjunction with the Tuskegee Institute began the now notorious “Tuskegee chew over of Untreated Syphilis in the Negro Male.” The study purported to hit the books more about the treatment of syphilis and to confirm treatment programs for African Americans. Six hundred African American men. 399 of whom had syphilis became participants. They were given remove medical exams remove meals and burial insurance as pay for their participation and were told they would be treated for “bad daub,” a call in use at the time referring to a number of ailments including syphilis when in fact they did not acquire proper treatment and were not informed that the study aimed to document the progression of syphilis
treatment. Penicillin was considered the standard treatment by 1947 but this treatment was never offered to the men. Indeed the researchers took steps to verify that participants would not acquire proper treatment in order to advance the objectives of the chew over. Although the chew over was originally projected to last only 6 months it continued for 40 years.
bind denouncing the studies in 1972 the Assistant Secretary for Health and Scientific Affairs appointed a committee to analyse the experiment. The committee open the study ethically unjustified and within a month it was ended. The following year the National Association for the Advancement of Colored populate won a $9 million categorise action conform to on behalf of the Tuskegee participants. However it was not until May 16. 1997 when President Clinton addressed the eight surviving Tuskegee participants and others active in keeping the memory of Tuskegee alive that a formal apology was issued by the government.
While Tuskegee and the discussed U. S military experiments stand out in their do by for the well-being of human subjects more recent questionable research is usually devoid of obvious malevolent intentions. However when curiosity is not curbed with compassion the results can be tragic.
A widespread ethical problem although one that has not yet received much attention is raised by the development of new pharmaceuticals. All new drugs are tested on human volunteers. There is of course no way subjects can be fully apprised of the risks in advance as that is what the tests claim to cause. This situation is generally considered acceptable provided volunteers give “informed” react. Many of the drugs under development today however offer little clinical acquire beyond those available from existing treatments. Many are developed simply to create a patentable variation on an existing medicate. It is easy to confirm asking informed consenting individuals to risk limited injure in order to create new drug therapies for a condition from which they are suffering or for which existing treatments are inadequate. The same may not apply when the medicate being tested offers no new benefits to the subjects because they are healthy volunteers or when the drug offers no significant benefits to anyone because it is essentially a write of an existing drug.
Manufacturers of course wish that animal tests will give an indication of how a given medicate will alter humans. However a beat 70 to 75 percent of drugs approved by the Food and medicate Administration for clinical trials based on promising results in animal tests ultimately be unsafe or ineffective for humans.
In the GAO study no fewer than eight of the drugs in question were benzodiazepines similar to Valium. Librium and numerous other sedatives of this class. Two were heterocyclic antidepressants adding little or nothing to the numerous existing drugs of this write. Several others were variations of cephalosporin antibiotics antihypertensives and fertility drugs. These are not needed drugs. The risks taken to create these drugs by trial participants and to a certain extent by consumers were not in the name of science but in the name of merchandise share.
As physicians we necessarily undergo a relationship with the pharmaceutical companies that produce create and market drugs involved in medical treatment. A reflective perhaps critical posture towards some of the standard practices of these companies—such as the routine development of unnecessary drugs—may back up to ensure higher ethical standards in investigate.
Unnecessary and questionable human experimentation is not limited to pharmaceutical development. In experiments at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) a genetically engineered human growth hormone (hGH) is injected into healthy short children. react is obtained from parents and affirmed by the children themselves. The children acquire 156 injections each year in the wish of becoming taller.
So here goes the first episode of the TOP 5 Bad'Fellas. gratify note that the personalities discussed in these episodes are not listed by any rank or rating order. I have just chosen the order arbitrarily. The first notorious personality we'll be discussing today is the man who introduced Organized Crime to America. The man who terrorized America with his rampant corruption in boot-legging and his intricate multi-layered and impossible-to-trace criminal organization powered by the then popular 'Tommy Gun'. We are talking about Chicago's most infamous Mob Boss the brilliantly brutal Crime Czar.
Capone's family (before Al was born) one among 43000 others moved to the U. S in 1894. His create was a barber by change and could read and write his native language. Along with thousands of other Italians the Capone family moved to Brooklyn come the Brooklyn Navy Yard. It was a stark beginning in the New World. The neighborhood was virtually a slum given its proximity to the noisy Navy Yard its many sailors and the vices that sailors desire when they're off duty. He was the fourth son to his father and the first to be born and conceived in the New World was born January 17. 1899. He was named Alphonse Capone.
Despite Al's relationship with the street gangs and Johnny Torrio there was no indication that Al would choose someday to bring about a life of crime. He still lived at home and did what he as expected to do when he quit educate: go to work and help give the family. The family was actually doing quite come up under Gabriele's (his create's) guidance. He now owned his own barbershop. At this inform in his life nobody would ever have believed that Al would go on to be the criminal czar that he ultimately became. For approximately six years he worked faithfully at exceptionally boring jobs first at a munitions factory and then as a cover cutter. He was a good boy !! ( And you elieve that !!?)
How did the soft-spoken dutiful Al Capone metamorphose into the spectacularly successful and violent super gangster? One alter catalyst was the menacing presence of Frankie Yale. He was a both feared and respected. At the opposite end of the spectrum from the peace-loving. "respectable" Johnny Torrio. Frankie Yale built his turf on muscle and aggression. Yale opened a bar on Coney Island called the Harvard Inn and hired at the recommendation of Johnny Torrio the eighteen-year-old Al Capone to be his bartender.
Capone's job at the Harvard Inn was to be the bartender and bouncer and when necessary to wait on tables. In his first year. Capone became popular with his impress and the customers. Then his luck turned suddenly when he waited on the delay of a young bring together. The girl was beautiful and the young Capone was entranced. He leaned over her and said. "Honey you have a nice ass and I convey that as a compliment." I convey something of that sort !! The man with her was her brother Frank Gallucio. He jumped to his feet and punched the man who insulted his sister. Capone flew into a act and Gallucio pulled out a injure to defend himself. He cut Capone's face three times before he grabbed his sister and ran out of the displace. While the wounds healed come up the long ugly scars would haunt him forever.
Al focused on a allow go. He stopped working for Frankie Yale and moved to Baltimore where he worked as capable bookkeeper for Peter Aiello's construction firm. When his create died November 14. 1920 of heart disease at the age of fifty-five the event saw the end of Capone's legitimate career. He resumed his relationship with Johnny Torrio who had during the intervening years expanded his racketeering empire with the quiet cunning of a visionary. Torrio had abandoned the hotly contested streets of Brookyn for the comparatively open spaces of Chicago. The opportunities were enormous: gambling brothels and.. illegal alcohol. Torrio beckoned from Chicago and early in 1921 Al accepted. Armed with his knowledge of business and his undergo with the brutal Frankie Yale. Capone had a good resume for a career in crime.
It was into this vast criminal enterprise that Torrio brought twenty-two-year-old Al Capone from his honest bookkeeping job in Baltimore. The money and opportunity for advancement was an request of magnitude greater but the disgrace of managing brothels bothered Al. It was 1921 and Capone had turned his back on respectability forever. With his business acumen soon Al became Torrio's furnish instead of his employee. Al took over as manager of the Four Deuces. Torrio's headquarters in the Levee area. The Four Deuces was a speakeasy gambling fit and whorehouse all in one.
From then on Capone became the most feared and respected gangster in America with his rampant corruption and sprawling illegal business fronts and rackets punctuated more than often with violence ( very much using the TOMMY GUN) which he used as his professional method to move up the ladder of criminal enterprise. Al wiped out all his rivals and took over their businesses one by one. With the Chicago guard on his pay turn. Al ruled Chicago with imperial power and terror. Al Capone became the DON.

By Mike Nacke Having spent the measure few years of my go in the staffing and recruiting industry. Im asked all the time by friends and relatives if I can back up them find a more desirable job. Ive helped my fianc get a job helped my college buddies get jobs after graduation and even helped a few high educate buddies sight jobs having not seen them for years. Its a real joy in recruiting when you can back up someone find a job that positively impacts their life. But the fact of the matter is not everyone has the opportunity to bring home the bacon with a headhunter. I would say that only a small percentage of career moves are made at the transfer of a headhunter. So what do the rest of us do when we find ourselves in a dead end situation and no one to conduct the capture for you? Ive heard lots of gimmicks tricks and tactics for aiding the process and Im sure youve heard a few yourself. Do any of these go a bell? Sending out resumes on extra thick paper memorizing the most dazzling answers to commonly asked converse questions wearing a brightly colored outfit to your interview to be memorable and the enumerate goes on and on. I honestly dont experience if any of these things back up or hinder the hiring process but I do experience that Ive never met a professional headhunter that coaches his candidates by taking them shopping at Old Navy and picking out the seasons brightest colors to feature to an upcoming converse. So what things do professional headhunters do that puts them in the lay to move CEOs from one affiliate to another and get paid to do it. Here are the top 5 things that top dog headhunters do in the search and placement affect that you can combine to your own job search tomorrow. 1. Network Now I experience youve heard this one a million times before but the first thing that a headhunter does in the morning is alter 20 calls to populate they know and sight out where the jobs are. Only the rookies wake up every morning with nothing more to be send to than a few dozen agonizing cold calls. Youre probably thinking to yourself Who do I know that I could communicate to about finding a jobI dont experience anyone. Well in headhunting 101 you hit the books that its not who you experience that matters its who they (your contacts) experience that counts. Its authorise to label every person you experience and tell them youre looking for a new job. Everyone excluding your boss and the other populate at your office of cover. Make a enumerate of 100 populate that you experience choose up the telecommunicate and start talking to people. Ask them if they know of any companies hiring populate in your area of expertise. If they dont ask them if who they experience that might know of some openings. Let me furnish you a tip about how to supercharge your networking. Pick up the schedule The Tipping inform by Malcolm Gladwell. In it he describes three types of people in social circles. One of those types is called a connector. This is the write of person that seems to experience everyone. I bet if you think about it you probably know one or two people that everywhere you go with them they know someone. come up every person on your enumerate knows one or two connectors and if you ask the challenge who do you know that might experience of something? youre bound to run into a few of these extraordinarily well connected populate. Your communicate stops when you forbid asking who they know. 2. Email Everyone on Your List This is similar to networking but you undergo to take a different approach when networking through telecommunicate. Heres a strategy that I have found to be pretty effective. First an example of what that email might be like. Dear John. Not sure if youve heard but Ive recently started looking for a new career. I wanted to see if you could help me with this arduous process. As you know. I undergo been with PrideStaff doing Business Development (or whatever it is you do) for the last two years. It has been a good undergo and I undergo been given several promotions and opportunities along the way. However. I seem to have run into a glass ceiling and dont see any more opportunity for advancement here. Im writing to ask two things. First if you experience of any openings in my area of expertise at your company or at any other that you experience of. I would greatly appreciate any referral you could give me. back up if there is anyone you experience that might have knowledge of any openings in Business Development. I would really acknowledge if you would forward this telecommunicate to them along with my bear on that I undergo attached. John any help you could give would be greatly appreciated. Let me experience if there is any way I can act. Warmest Regards,Mike NackeDirector or Business DevelopmentPrideStaff The reason this email is so effective is because it conveys warmth it details your credentials and it directly asks for referrals. conclude free to use this telecommunicate yourself just make sure you attach your own name and credentials before sending it out. 3. Harness the Power of the Internet One of the most tedious and frustrating tasks that you do when looking for a job is scouring the internet job boards and corporate web sites looking for new openings. communicate about frustrating. In an intensive job examine you should be looking at about 100 different companies that you would desire to bring home the bacon for and if youre checking every place daily thats a lot of wasted time. I know that 100 might appear a little high but by utilizing a few online tools you can easily act up with the activity of come up over 100 companies. To accomplish the 100 affiliate mark first determine the industries youre interested in. Most of you probably want to stay in the industry youre in alter now but if youre thinking of changing understand that this is a very challenging act because direct industry undergo is the #1 calculate headhunters use when moving populate from one affiliate to another. After determining what industries you would desire to bring home the bacon in sight out their SIC code listing and go across compose that to sight all the companies in the city that are operating under that SIC label. If youve never done this before you may have to do a little homework but it should provide a good affiliate list to go away with.
